Call for Contributions: Where Human Rights Take Place (workshop)

The workshop “Where Human Rights Take Place: Spaces of Rights and Responsibilities Beyond Territory” examines how human rights can be reconceptualized in light of mobility, digital networks, global infrastructures, and planetary environmental crises. It questions territorially bounded understandings of jurisdiction and explores how rights, responsibility, and accountability are produced and contested within transnational, socio-technical, and more-than-human spatial configurations. Bringing together perspectives from human rights research, geography, law, and related fields, the workshop treats space as relational, politically contested, and materially mediated rather than as a neutral container.

The Call for Papers is now open. We invite submissions in various formats (including papers, posters, and alternative/interactive contributions) by 15 March; further details are available here
