Short Bio

Ana Paula López Minchán is part of the International Doctoral Programme on Business and Human Rights at FAU and joined the Chair of International Business, Society and Sustainability in November 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environment and an MSc in Water Resources Management from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She brings seven years of interdisciplinary experience in research and consultancy on mining and socio-environmental politics in the Andean region of South America.

Her doctoral project focuses on policy construction around the long-term impacts of mining in extractive territories. It compares how stakeholders conceptualize temporality and how these framings shape policy design, ranging from traditional tools such as Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) to emerging due diligence frameworks. She asks what this means for intergenerational well-being and justice in Peruvian territories connected to mineral extraction. Within the project, she explores the dissonances and resonances between large-scale and artisanal and small-scale mining.
