Dr. Ignatius Yordan Nugraha

Short Bio

Dr. Ignatius Yordan Nugraha is a postdoctoral researcher at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, part of the Cluster of Excellence “Transforming Human Rights”, in Nuremberg, Germany. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Fundamental Rights at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany, as part of the project Deep Impact through Soft Jurisprudence? The Contribution of United Nations Treaty Body Case Law to the Development of International Human Rights Law. He earned his doctoral degree from Hasselt University in Hasselt, Belgium, on 30 January 2024. He has broad expertise in comparative constitutional law, ECHR law, and UN human rights law. His current research agenda is law in context, specifically how our particular imaginations of the self, society, and cosmos animate the particular formulation, interpretation, and application of the law.
